Co-founded in 2023 by Peter Ofwa and a team of community development professionals, CCSD was established to address unemployment, skills gaps, and economic vulnerability among young people in Kenya.

Owino Martin Murono

Board Chairman

TVET leader with 15+ years in institutional leadership, policy implementation, and workforce development in Kenya.

Owino Martin Murono is a seasoned Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) leader with over 15 years of progressive experience in institutional leadership, policy implementation, and workforce development in Kenya. He currently serves as Center Manager at Akado Vocational Training Centre, leading strategic transformation initiatives focused on Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET).

Martin holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Eldoret and is pursuing a Master of Education at Maseno University. He is a certified CBET facilitator with advanced international training from Wageningen University (Netherlands), Selkirk College (Canada), and NITTTR India.

He serves as Secretary General of the Association of Vocational Trainers in Kenya (AVTK) and was a Steering Committee Member for the STEEP Project under the Humber International Development Institute (Canada). At CCSD, he provides strategic guidance on technical training programs, curriculum development, and industry alignment.

Finance and administration specialist with 10+ years in financial management, grants administration, and donor compliance within the NGO sector.

Peter O. Ofwa is the Co-founder and Executive Director of CCSD in Kisumu County, where he leads transformative programs equipping youth and women with practical, market-driven skills for employment, entrepreneurship, and sustainable livelihoods.

He is a seasoned finance and administration specialist with over ten years of progressive experience in financial management, grants administration, audit, and donor compliance. Peter has worked with RTI International, AGESDEV, and Mildmay International Kenya, building strong expertise in financial oversight, risk management, and institutional strengthening.

Beyond CCSD, Peter is the founder of the Nyanza Youth Entrepreneurs Association and the Vijana Tuishi Youth Initiative. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Finance) and is pursuing an MBA in Finance at Maseno University.

Finance and institutional strengthening expert with over 25 years supporting nonprofits, CBOs, and development programs across East Africa.

CPA Beatrice (Betty) Omollo is a seasoned finance and institutional strengthening expert with over 25 years of experience supporting nonprofits, community-based organizations, and development programs. As Board Treasurer, she provides strategic oversight in financial management, governance, and organizational sustainability.

Betty brings extensive experience in managing multi-country programs and advising regional and global organizations. Her expertise in donor compliance, resource mobilization, and operational effectiveness supports CCSD in building robust systems and enhancing transparency.

She is also the Founder of Thrive Line Connections, a network of social consultants across East Africa dedicated to empowering social enterprises and NGOs through capacity building and training. Betty is a passionate mentor and advocate for women and youth empowerment.

Private sector and market systems consultant with 15+ years designing inclusive solutions across agriculture, financial inclusion, and health markets in Kenya.

Mr. Obonyo Gordon is a private sector, market systems, and innovation management consultant with over 15 years of experience in designing and implementing inclusive, private sector–led solutions across agriculture, financial inclusion, and health markets in Kenya.

He brings extensive expertise in organizational development, business development services (BDS), digital agriculture, climate-smart agriculture, agro-ecological systems, and agricultural market integration. Gordon has coordinated donor-funded programs for GFA Consulting Group, RTI International, Marie Stopes International, STIPA Kenya, and Opportunity International.

He collaborates with SVN Kenya, Yunus Environment Hub, and the BoP Innovation Centre, supporting business modeling for SMEs in regenerative agriculture and food systems. At CCSD, Gordon provides strategic leadership in market systems development, youth economic empowerment, and enterprise development.
